Product Description

‘Target’ Throw Pillow

“Target” was drawn from a ripped section of many overlaid street posters. The monochrome palette of this throw pillow counters the vivid colors of the other designs in the ARTIFACT collection and the kids in your life can safely use it for Nerf gun target practice. Another funky original handmade product by Vancouver textile designer Stephanie Symns.

  • Throw pillow dimensions: 20 x 20 inches square
  • Front: super velvety-soft polyester… a little haptic happiness
  • Back & piping detail: 12oz charcoal cotton twill
  • Concealed zipper
  • Tapered corners so your pillow looks optically square on your couch
  • Care: machine wash, line or tumble dry on low
  • Please note price is for cover only

Stephanie Symns

ANTIPOD is a textile design studio operating at the intersection of art, fine craft, design & technology to blend old-school techniques with new materials and processes. Founder Stephanie Symns established the focus for her business on the premise that handmade items are the definition of modern luxury. She designs and produces a wide range of vibrant original textile products for home decor, and for use as accessories and small-batch garments. The hallmarks of her work are bold colour combinations and innovative patterns. After enjoying textile based work for many years in her spare time, Stephanie stepped away from a career in film and television to pursue formal studies in Textile Art at Capilano University. She has earned several textile awards and grants from organizations such as the Handweavers Guild of America and the Textile Society of America. Stephanie was born in New Zealand. She earned a Bachelor of Management Studies from Waikato University and, in he "first career" spent the 10 years working in marketing for several international businesses in New Zealand, Australia and the United Kingdom. Stephanie moved to Canada in 2000, where she pursued more creative work in the film industry. During that phase of her career she notably produced an art documentary on Vancouver artist Attila Lukacs called “Drawing Out the Demons” for Bravo and TVO that was nominated for a Gemini Award. Stephanie also wrote and produced a documentary series entitled “Girl Racers” for Global Television and produced a feature film, “Control Alt Delete”, that debuted at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2008. ANTIPOD Workshop brings together Stephanie’s extensive business background and entrepreneurial spirit, a passion for art and design, and a longstanding practice of hands-on making that originated within her family. Continual experimentation is at the core of her process, and this results in small and varied production runs to create limited edition products.
